From Pokémon to Planet-Saving Adventures for Kids

After more than two decades bringing beloved children's literature to life at The Pokémon Company and Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro), Emily Arons directed her creative energy toward crafting adventures of her own.

Inspired by a lifelong passion for storytelling, imaginative worlds, and nature, Emily created Miro Chronicles, an award-winning middle-grade science fiction series filled with extraordinary creatures, friendship, courage, and discovery.

Her debut novel, Miro Chronicles, was a finalist in the 2021 Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest and received an Honorable Mention in the 2026 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards. Miro Chronicles: The Graphic Novel — Part One earned First Place in the same awards.

Through Spero Productions, Emily creates middle-grade novels and graphic novels that weave together adventure, humor, and heart—from the extraordinary ecosystems of Planet Miro to the hilarious challenges faced by three friends starting a dog-walking business.

Her goal is simple: to create stories that inspire kids to keep reading.

Outside of writing, Emily draws inspiration from the wild. Her adventures include running from the Grand Canyon rim to the Colorado River and back, hiking Half Dome in Yosemite, summiting Mount Whitney, and trekking in the Alps beneath the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.

A California native, Emily grew up in Berkeley and now resides in Woodinville, Washington, with her family, two lively dogs, and a very bossy cat.
